Public Fund "International Medical Fund Severance-KZ" was created in 2017 on the initiative of the General Director of the Severance Hospital of Yonse University (Republic of Korea) Mr. Lee Byung Seok and Akim of the Aktobe region B.M. Saparbayev in Seoul during the Kazakh-Korean Business Forum 2016 with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev
A key member of the Fund is Severance Hospital Health Systems at Yonsei University, Korea’s leading medical organization with 130 years of history, internationally accredited JCI, and the leading medical technology and robotic surgery medical institute.
Honorary President of the IMM Severance-KZ Public Fund is Mr. Ban Ki-moon - Chairman of the Assembly of the Global Institute for Green Growth (GGGI), Director of the International Institute for Public -social assistance from Yonsei University, the 8th UN Secretary-General, who fully supports the aspirations and objectives of the fund to develop international cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea, by increasing the competitiveness of education and healthcare systems in the medical sector of Kazakhstan.
The Foundation is actively working to establish contacts, find partners and interested organizations in cooperation and transfer the experience of Severance Hospital. Memoranda of cooperation were signed with 9 regions of Kazakhstan and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Opanov West Kazakhstan State University, and the Almaty Association of Hospitals.
The activities of the public foundation “International Medical Fund“ SEVERANCE-KZ ”are aimed at combining the intellectual, financial and organizational efforts of leading Korean and Kazakhstani organizations interested in the effective development of medicine in Kazakhstan.
